A Critical Comment to UI's Election

I have been witnessed the high-tended general election at my campus for about two weeks. Frankly, i have no idea what are people are fighting for. In daily life, we shout democracy, maternal, inside we are as fragile as the legislative board one. Here is my view regarding to UI's annual election this year :

1. Professionalism is at stake. One candidate has formally, by law, mistaken by showing different GPA point's. I think it is common to our custom to hold on after that issue. If this is Japan, surely, that candidate will put off his position. Indeed, i have no obligation to push him off, i just reminding the way professionalism is being sacrificed.

2. Institutional Independence is also at stake. Two public institution which is Constitutional Board, and Legislative Board has tempted to move on it's own way. On the legislative side, somewhat ridiculous, announced the firing letter of five MM Board, the day the MM official decision was being announced. The tendencies also alleged to MM for supporting one candidate.

However, I was thinking that the allegation is also ridiculous. They said the judges are supporting one candidate. Hello, that was very subjective indeed! And what is more outrageous, the Legislative Board processed that petition without further reconcile that issue. Now, who blame who?

I could said that MM was not subjectively preferred to one candidate, since not all of the allegations were being accept by the judges.

3. MM announced that re-election should be done, in 30 days. In addition, one candidate must apologize to public for his mistaken. That decision was being publicly announced using two balihos, in front of FT and FH. Surprisingly, the baliho was missing to nowhere, the night after. Hello! I sceptically saw this politic turn mad, and even worse, the candidate are showing off for position.

4. Re-election is rhetorics? Of course! The committee officially surrender. Legislative Board surely won't accept that request. Who would set up the re-election? How messy! There is not any inter-correlation between institutions. Another classes preferences?

I am very dissappointed the way this year election done. Too many fault, too many indisclipinaries action, too many allegations, too many conflict! I just hope, that the next BEM UI would better off, more inclusive, and more progressive.

To whom who act immaturely, please, be mature. Obey the law, show your dignity!
